According to Engadget, Skype has finished its acquisition of former competing video calling company Qik, as the transfer of shares and funds between shareholders has been completed. According to Skype’s blog entry on the subject:
We’re very excited about this move, and look forward to working together with the Qik team to make our mobile video products even better.
We’ll be keeping an eye out on this merger to see what developments stem from it.
